Solution
1. Limited pumping depth?

How you can dredge the material even you can't even reach them? Most of the pump has limited pumping depth below 40m. If pump further than 40m, the water will enter the motor housing because of water pressure and the pump will stop working. And sorry to say that reservoir and deep sea dredging and mining required pump to go more than 40m and up to 150m.

CAUSE:

SOLUTION:

  • Water will enter motor housing of submersible pump and the pump will stop working for dredging or mining above 40m.

  • Allow high depth dredging and mining by maintain the pressure to keep the water away from the motor housing.

2. Pump gets chock or plug frequently?

As the depth increase, the compactness of material will eventually increase due to increase of water weight. I believe those who experience with deep sea dredging deal with this type of material with frustrated. The clay will choked the pump suction inlet of dredge pump and they need to take up the pump and clean, choked again take up and clean, again and again.

CAUSE:

SOLUTION:

  • This is normal phenomenon for high depth dredging application because the more deep you go, the more compact the material.
  • When up to a certain depth, for example when more than 25m, there will be more and more compact or hard clayey sedimentation and most of the time will chock the pump.

  • High pressure water jet ring will dislodge the material to avoid them from chocking or plugging of pump.

3. Limitation of transfer distance

CAUSE:

SOLUTION:

  • Maximum transfer distance is highly influence by the head of the pump. What is pump head? In dredging, pump head is the total equivalent height and vertical delivery distance that the slurry; taking into account the friction lose in the pipeline.

  • Extend your pumping distance to up to 1.5km away.
